Little do they know, this encounter leads to another thrilling side quest, with Barret taking the spotlight this time.

🚀 Firing Up The Forge
To begin ‘The Pursuit of Perfection,’ head to Gongaga’s Community Board, located northeast of Gongaga. But here’s the pro-tip: you can actually get in touch with Izo before reaching Gongaga itself. His Shack lies southeast of your starting position near the river, just before entering Gongaga’s region map from the north.
Enter Izo’s shack, whether you’ve found him earlier or come across his request on the Community Board. When you chat with Izo, get ready for an interesting cutscene featuring Barret.
Izo requires the team to locate Draconite deposits, but first, we need his map. Travel to the tool shack south of Izo’s Shack, grab the map, and make sure to stock up on necessary resources.
🗺️ Finding The Draconite Deposits
Now, you can either rely on Izo’s directions, which consist of angled depictions of nearby landmarks, or you can follow our lead.
- Return to Izo’s Shack, which serves as our starting point.
- Take the trail leading southwest from Izo’s Shack to reach the next reference point.
- Soon, you’ll come across a large rock structure with a massive hollowed-out center.
- Just past the structure, make a right turn to remain on the trail.
- Continue along the trail until you spot a tall statue with a lantern inside its base.
- At this point, the trail splits into left and right paths. Choose the left path.
- Stay on the trail until you see an enormous tree to your right. It stands out with its multiple large branches and dozens of thin, perfectly vertical branches extending to the ground.
💎 Gathering The Deposits And Reaping The Rewards
After following the path and finding the Draconite deposits, you’ll encounter four Daggerwing enemies that need to be defeated. If you’re at the recommended level of 31, they shouldn’t pose much more of a challenge than the local fauna like the Chimera Mantis.
Keep an eye out for two deposits at ground level and a rope leading up to a ledge where the other two deposits are located.
Once you’ve gathered the deposits, it’s time to return to Izo. After an intriguing scene, the quest concludes, and you’ll be rewarded with:
