Last Epoch has an abundance of dungeons that offer thrilling adventures and fantastic rewards. One such dungeon is the Soulfire Bastion, a fiery fortress that holds a powerful secret. In this article, we will delve into the location, walkthrough, and boss fight of the Soulfire Bastion, as well as introduce you to the enigmatic Soul Gambler.

Soulfire Bastion Location 🗺️

The entrance to the Soulfire Bastion can be found in Thetima during the Imperial Era. Travel north of The Risen Lake and northwest of The Outcast Camp hub area to uncover the entrance. As you make your way through The Felled Wood area, the dungeon’s entrance will reveal itself, eager to challenge the bold adventurers.

How To Get Soulfire Bastion Dungeon Keys 🗝️

As is the case with other dungeons in Last Epoch, you will need a Soulfire Bastion Key to gain entry. These keys are rare drops from defeated monsters, and occasionally, you may find them as rewards in the Monolith of Fate. Just one key is required to enter the dungeon, even if you’re embarking on this perilous journey with a group. It’s important to note that in dungeon activities, you only have one life. If you fall, you’ll need to start over with a new key, bidding farewell to your previous key in the process.

Soulfire Bastion Dungeon Walkthrough 🚶‍♂️

Having obtained a key, approach the Soulfire Bastion gate and insert the key into the text prompt. Four difficulty options, called Tiers, will be presented to you. These Tiers determine the level and modifiers of the dungeon. Let’s take a look:

Tier 1: Level 45, no modifiers.
Tier 2: Level 75, 50% increased enemy damage and HP, the Soul Gambler’s inventory includes 2 extra items.
Tier 3: Level 92, 80% increased enemy damage and HP, the Soul Gambler’s inventory includes 3 extra items.
Tier 4: Level 100, a whopping 180% increased enemy damage and HP, the Soul Gambler’s inventory includes 4 extra items.

Despite the varying difficulties, the dungeon mechanics remain the same across all four Tiers. Increasing the Tier not only makes the monsters tougher but also enhances the rewards you can acquire from the Soul Gambler, a unique merchant exclusive to the Soulfire Bastion. Once you feel prepared, select the desired difficulty and embark on your dungeon experience.

Dungeon Mechanic: Soulfire Shield 🔥

During your journey in the Soulfire Bastion, you’ll be equipped with a remarkable tool – the Soulfire Shield. This shield renders you immune to either Necrotic or Fire damage, depending on the active element. You can switch the active element by pressing “D,” but be mindful that this consumes a Soul Ember. Fear not, though, as you can replenish your stock of Soul Embers by slaying monsters and collecting them from their corpses. Spare Soul Embers can later be used to purchase items from the Soul Gambler. Remember, unspent Soul Embers are preserved for future runs, so plan your spending wisely.

As you advance through the dungeon, your first challenge will be a bridge engulfed in flames. To cross safely, you must switch your Soulfire Shield to fire, providing protection against all fire damage that lies in your path. Traverse the narrow walkways within the lava chamber, making your way to the opposite end with caution and audacity. There are no timers or complicated mechanics here, allowing you to take your time and relish the adventure.

Upon reaching the end, you’ll encounter two possible exits, each offering a unique modifier. These modifiers buff the Soul Gambler’s inventory but increase the strength of the monsters you face. Choose the exit with the modifier that suits your preferences, and journey forth into the next room. The mechanics in Soulfire Keep are akin to the previous room, so engage in battle, keep your Soulfire Shield attuned to fire, and maintain your spirits high.
